Now is not the time to judge others.

We have passed a lot of judgment; enough to know it does not work. When we judge others we take in their faults. It is said that when a person is defamed, the defamation transfers his or her negative deeds to those who engage in the defamation. Defamation is a form of karmic detoxification.

Now is the time to collect ourselves and delve within. Now is the time to find our real worth; what we really are but have managed to conceal through our secular education, wealth, position and power.

When we stand naked post death there is a judgment. Someone who knows us very intimately passes that judgment. Hindus call that person Chitragupta. One who has the photographic memory of every second of our life.

During my near death experience I had reached the point where my life started flashing before me. I jolted back soon after but the process was unmistakable.

Now who is Chitragupta? Our own mind. Every bit of our life is stored by the mind. When the time comes the reel starts unraveling. The process is relentless.

Chitragupta passes the judgment. This is the strong point. The more we use the mind to judge others the more is the ability of the mind to judge our own deeds. When the mind separates and judges us it uses the very qualities we have used in judging others.

The religious people therefore say judging others is a sin. Are we really capable of judging others? Unless we experience the same problem standing in the boots of the person we cannot know what the other person is going through and why he or she has acted in the manner.

What else? Judging others make us unforgiving. The mind that is not trained in discrimination, compassion and forgiveness will judge you very harshly when the time comes.

The life flash can occur at the time of death or it can come later. To prepare for it we must understand the temporary nature of life, and practice being non judgmental and forgiving.

Another step is to realize that we go through experiences that are predetermined. Therefore there is need to veer away from the concept of doership and stay as a witness.

If the mind is the source of our problems we must try to go beyond it where peace reigns. Meditation with no thoughts is a good way to start. The mind is not easy to control. The trick is to watch it in a detached manner and not try to control it.

The above practices are enriching and provide value to life. It is up to you to try them.
