There was a time when people feared evil.

There was a time when people feared evil.

Why did they do so? Human society in this world is pretty old, much older than what is accepted. There have been many cycles of existence. The cumulative knowledge of such cycles tend to ebb and flow, but the imprint on the psyche remains. That imprint tends to abhor evil as the consequences are vicious and lead to intense suffering.

Every cycle ends with evil getting the better of good. Good fights back. The next cycle then begins with an emphasis on good and restrictions to limit the growth of evil. Evil resents it and tries its best to weaken the hold of good. It succeeds, good gangs up to defeat it resulting in large scale destruction, the cycle ends, and the next cycle begins.

This play of good and evil is essentially what religion is about. Religion is not rituals. It degenerates into rituals when the inner meaning is lost as mankind is affected by turbulence that takes the knowledge and practitioners away. The rituals then continue as they serve as tools to keep memories alive and anxieties at bay. Practitioners emerge to find meaning and again breath life into them. This ebb and flow too continues.

The cycle in which we are living now is critical as it is extraordinary in the sense that evil faces the prospect of annihilation or the clipping of its wings to an extent where it cannot pose as much of an existential threat that it has posed in the past. Therefore evil is employing all its powers to stay afloat. It has organized itself and corrupted everything hoping that good will be defeated and destroyed instead.

This is what we are witnessing since the last 1000 years or so. Evil invading, destroying, corrupting, distorting, and establishing its rule. The best of brains have not been able to counter its influence. This is because in this age untruth has become the best livelihood option. People seek comforts; they seek wealth and power with the least effort

Untruth provides it in this age.

People also seek company. They need recognition. Once again corruption arranges it such that bad company flourishes and one bends to the power of peer pressure. One who resists becomes isolated and helpless.

The present age was foreseen by India. That invasions, both physical as well as intellectual, would destroy it from within and without was known. The restriction on foreign travel (by crossing the seas) is an indicator of such knowledge. Achyutananda has clearly stated that in this age demonic thought would be accepted and promoted as science.

Why will Kalki be endowed with the power of great destruction? Countering the power of evil in this age will not be possible without such power. The Godhead will match evil step by step and force it to concede defeat. The agents of evil will be left complaining that the power of good is bending the laws. We witnessed this in the Mahabharata war where Krishna displayed his devious mind and bent the rules to defeat the Kauravas who could only complain.

But the fight will decimate a lot of things. That is the tragedy that we have to witness. Gone are the days where wars were fought in battlefields. The whole world will soon be involved in the biggest war to ever erupt in this plane. Chakradhar termed it MahaVishwa, as opposed to Mahabharata.

We have invited trouble. Now it is at our doorstep. We cannot complain because we ignored the warnings. We broke all the rules. The consequences are therefore inevitable.
