A Worldly Society – The end of humanity.
We
are witnessing a worldly society. A very practical society. A society that has
learnt to believe that world alone which can be perceived by the senses. A
society that has understood that personal possessions are everything. A society
that values wealth and wealth creation.
This
society is now without any trace of humanity. To each his own. The world is
fine so long as I am fine.
Wealth
has accumulated. Development has ensured structures that are the envy of all.
Comforts can be purchased. Everything has a price tag. If you have money you can
have everything.
Technically
we have created the world we dreamed of.
There
are certain things that still elude us;
- Health and happiness
- Peace of mind
- Tranquility and satisfaction
- Transcendental wisdom that leads to holistic knowledge
- The strength to face difficulties
- The moral strength to feel the pain of the world and serve others
Faced
with this gap we realize that we live in a bubble that can burst the moment we
run out of money. There is nothing within us that can support when things go
wrong and we are faced with an uncertain future.
We
have never been so vulnerable.
We
read about catastrophic events of the past and how mankind struggled to
overcome them to again establish an organized society. Can the present specimen
emulate that feat? Faced with the immense unsettling events that can disrupt
everything, do we have the power to cope and recover?
We
don't. We don't have that power because we have wasted our strength and
forgotten the basic skills to negotiate nature; skills that are essential to
survive when civilizations collapse and man faces nature alone and helpless.
We
have lost our physical and mental strength. Decades of comfort has robbed us of
the power that our ancestors dipped into while facing the vicissitudes of life.
To lose everything and yet stand up and struggle is a gift only for those that
live close to nature.
By abandoning
nature, abandoning conscience, abandoning humanity, abandoning our spiritual
roots we have killed the core of our being.
