The Mind.
The Mind.
Our world's exist because we perceive it through our minds and senses. In sleep the world vanishes. Examining the mind is crucial for our existence. Upon examining we find two layers in the mind. A mind that guides and a mind that acts. There is a part of our mind that is introspective and tries to subtly guide our actions. We overtly know this as our conscience. Another part tends to blindly rush into action without contemplating on long term consequences and guided by short term gains. This part is always alert and is an expert in rationalizing every action. We observe that as we grow up the guiding mind tends to subside and the acting mind takes over completely. It is this active mind that is the source of both pleasure and pain. People who remain alive to the guiding mind remain stable in the face of both pleasure and pain knowing that both are mental constructs. They know that life is a test that allows us to face challenges and grow. Life is not easy. One is separated from the very reality and completeness that one consciously or unconsciously strives for. It is a painful separation that is complicated by the consequences of our unmindful actions. At the very least we can strengthen the guiding mind and try to search for meaning in life. If it takes us away from its hustle and bustle we should be grateful. The journey has to be taken up by the individual and is voluntary. Everything depends on you and the mentality you encourage.
